Pastor Darryle Dunks and Bren have pastored Texas churches for 33 years, most recently as minister to Forerunners (Senior Adults) at Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler. They served as Foreign Missionaries in Tanzania, East Africa from 1977-1979. He began his pastorate at Emerald Bay Community Church on January 2, 2013.
Dr. Dunks is a graduate of Baylor University, BA in religion; and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas, MDiv and DMin with doctoral studies in “Equipping Older Adults in Selected Ministry Projects.”
He and Bren have one son, Brian and wife Jenn from League City, Texas, and two grandchildren, Bryce and his wife Alison in Irvine, California, and Kayln in Waco, Texas.
Louise Williamson has been a member of the Emerald Bay Community Church choir since 2005, first as a singer, and in October, 2016, as the director. Although a native-born Texan, she hails from Michigan and brings a wealth of experience including directing the choirs at Belleville High School, Ypsilanti United Methodist Church, and St. Andrews United Church of Christ. Louise has a BME and MA in music. Her career also included serving as an Assistant Principal at Belleville High School, and Assistant Superintendent for Van Buren Public Schools.
Fred Zachary became Director of Education at Emerald Bay Community Church in September 2016. Fred has spent his entire life in the field of education, having been a student, teacher, principal and superintendent. He holds a Ed.D from Texas AM-Commerce, is currently co-teaching in the 10:15 Sunday morning bible study and serves on the Bullard ISD school board.
Nancy Studley is our Church Administrator. She came to EBCC in 2005 as Financial Secretary and oversees all of the church operational activities. She schedules and oversees the work of the janitorial staff and the lawn and facilities maintenance people, schedules outside service people as needed, and is primarily responsible for keeping the building and grounds in such excellent condition. Nancy and her late husband Jim moved to East Texas from California because of Jim’s health. She is a true blessing to the church with her cheerful competence and generous spirit.
Anne Myers joined the church staff in July 2016 and works in the office as Administrative Assistant. She coordinates church communications, manages the website, Facebook, and other online services, and produces the weekly newsletter and service bulletins. Anne moved to Emerald Bay from Connecticut in October 2015 on retirement from her career as a law librarian, most recently at Yale Law School. Anne has a B.A. in Spanish from Vanderbilt University and an M.L.S. from the University of Texas at Austin. She is avid genealogist and sings in the EBCC choir.
Denise Jones has been Church Organist since May of 2000. She has faithfully traveled from Dallas for the weekly worship service and made Emerald Bay her home in 2016. She is such a blessing to the music ministry of EBCC. Denise brings an expertise that has added so much to the worship in our church. Denise came to EBCC after many years of experience in church music and in music teaching with two degrees in music performance and music education. She teaches elementary music and is the music supervisor at Hockaday School in Dallas.
